Evening Supervisor, Olympic Oval, Faculty of Kinesiology

Position Overview

The Olympic Oval in the Faculty of Kinesiology is currently seeking a Recurring Part-time Evening Supervisor.

This position reports to the Team Lead, Client Services, and is responsible for ensuring the safety, risk management and customer service needs of the Olympic Oval and all user groups when full time staff are not available.

Position Description

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

  • Support and supervision of building and part-time employees
  • Provides direction and leadership including: initiatives to improve customer service, staff performance appraisals, staff training, and occasional scheduling of staff
  • Develops and maintains effective communication and dissemination of information between the Oval user groups and the management team
  • Acts as a liaison for the management team, staff, visitors, the general public
  • Acts as a `troubleshooter' during evening and weekend hours
  • Monitors and deals with activities carried out in the building including: public skating, ticket sales, front office duties, ice patrol, weight room, access control, skate shop, events, and operations duties when necessary

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Must have 3 - 5 years supervisory experience
  • Able to interact with a variety of customers, user groups, students, faculty and staff providing effective customer service skills
  • Must have proven conflict resolution skills as well as problem solving skills
  • Ability to handle stressful situations is essential
  • Current CPR and Lifesaver First Aid certificate is required
  • Sound knowledge of POS systems and cash management is required
