So often we are asked - what is kinesiology? We study the continuum of human movement - from those learning how to move to high-performance athletes working to realize peak performance. Excellence in research and teaching are our top priorities. The Faculty of Kinesiology is the home of Active Living, Dinos Athletics, Olympic Oval, Outdoor Centre and Sport Medicine Centre.
Our vision is to be international leaders in the study and advancement of human movement, sport, health and wellness. We have some of the top scholars and the best-equipped research and learning facilities in the world. We are currently ranked No. 1 in North America and No. 11 globally in ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Sport Science Schools and Departments. No matter where you work in the Faculty of Kinesiology, you can make a difference in the lives of others. Become a part of a culture that embraces innovative teaching and research.
We find solutions to make things better. Whether it’s creating faster and stronger athletes, preventing injuries in youth, discovering how fatigue affects the elderly or finding ways to curb obesity, we lead the way in innovative thinking.
You can attend or lead seminars and workshops on the latest research, get support for tuition, take part in a study or work with colleagues who are at the top of their field in the study of human movement.
We have a racquet centre, personal trainers, children’s programs, five gymnasiums and North America’s largest outdoor centre for equipment rentals and expert instruction. Get inspired by high-performance athletes who train and compete at our Olympic Oval (fastest ice in the world), Olympic-size pool and fitness centre.
