Position Overview

The Faculty of Kinesiology is currently seeking a Full-time Regular Client Services Supervisor.

This position reports to the Manager, Client Services & Outdoor Centre, and will provide a leadership role in customer service area through interactions with clients, hourly staff, and management. This role fills opening shifts, weekdays from 5:00am-1:00pm.

Position Description

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

  • Effectively coordinate and supervise the workflow of customer service staff on a daily basis.  This includes setting work priorities, allocating staff resources and supervision of the workflow of the customer service staff on a daily basis
  • Act as the front-line authority who deals with customer complaints or exceptions to policies and procedures regarding equipment rentals or program registrations
  • Process program registrations, memberships, locker sales, equipment rentals, service/repair contracts, facility access control, as well as retail sales on the University computerized systems
  • Accurately assess fees, process payments, authorize credit card payments, balance daily deposits, process program & rental refunds and transfers
  • Ensure that customer service staff training is accomplished in a consistent, timely and thorough manner for all hourly paid staff. This includes working with program coordinators to ensure that training materials are current and accurate
  • Ensure that information about problems and issues with equipment, memberships, or programs are effectively communicated back to the program coordinators who are responsible for those areas
  • Ensure that the customer service area has the tools and resources required to function effectively. This includes telephones, Moneris machines, computer equipment, photocopier, forms, laundry supplies, and other office supplies

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Grade 12 minimum education
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Available for evenings and weekend shifts
  • Experience handling cash and payment transactions
  • Experience in a leadership role
  • Experience in customer service, including experience in the supervision of a medium sized customer service operation
  • High comfort level in a web based environment
  • Experience in conflict resolution considered an asset
  • An undergraduate degree in Kinesiology or a Recreation Administration program would be considered an asset
  • Standard First Aid CPR-C considered an asset
